Purpose and Focus

The purpose of the Shiv Nadar Foundation collaboration grants is to bolster stronger cooperation among all the foundation institutions. The grants program will accelerate the process of delivering research and exploration lead innovation delivered by inter-institution department and cross functional teams.

The Grants Focus Is:

  • Real world application or project scope that covers or solves mass impact missions
  • Open theme format for maximum collaborative participation
  • Exploring proposals beyond on-going projects and the contemporary motivation of the individual institution

Budget

₹ 40,00,000 x 5 grants

  • A maximum Grant value of ₹ 40 Lacs shall be allocated per Grant
  • Budget allocated can only be used for below headers as required

Duration

  • The Grants project must be of minimum duration for 2 years and can go up to 3 years.

Selection Criteria

The proposal will be evaluated by the preselected jury basis their submitted proposal. It would be judged based on feasibility, impact on society, scalability, collaboration scale and proposed outcome.

Submission of Proposals

The proposal should be in PDF format and must contain an undertaking form from principal investigator of collaborating entities in alignment with the sample proposal shared on the website.
Bluebook document should also be submitted in the prescribed format as available on the website.

To officially register your submission, please follow below steps –

1. Firstly, Project teams need to email the proposal and bluebook document in the prescribed format to Collaborating Institution SPOCs while keeping snfcollaborationgrants@snfgroup.org in cc | Latest By 18th November 2024

2. Only once it has been approved by Primary Institution SPOC, the project team needs to upload their final Proposal (in PDF format including Undertaking form) and bluebook document (in Excel format) on the online form available on https://www.shivnadarfoundation.org/IIC-grants (Under Submission tab) to register their final submission | Latest By 22nd November 2024


Conduct

Once the grant is assigned, a project review shall take place every 6 months to assess progress and resolve any challenges

A final project completion report shall be submitted within 1 month of completion of project

Important Terms and Conditions

  • The team can’t hire any permanent employee for the project while specialists/consultant on project basis would be okay
  • Administrative expenses cannot be more than 10% of the allocated snf grants money
  • Jury decision would be final in terms of selection of grants projects
  • Anytime the project seems to be not moving forward as expected, the jury has the right To scrap the project or transfer the responsibilities, as required
  • Dispersion of grants would be subject to decision of evaluation jury
  • All projects developed or ip created/granted via this grants program will be owned by Shiv nadar foundation
  • The faculty / professors of the project will enjoy the joint publishing right and can Table whitepapers about the outcome of the project jointly with snf
  • People who are pursuing or have completed Ph.D are eligible for stipend of ₹ 31,000 p.m.
  • Similarly, people who are pursuing or completed M.tech are eligible for stipend of ₹ 12,500 p.m.
  • Additionally, our recommendation is to keep overall stipend amount under 20% of the overall snf grants budget but in case it goes beyond the suggested benchmark due to certain project requirement, appropriate explanation can be incorporated in the proposal for further consideration
